All electric utilities in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania are required, per the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC), to provide an Eligible Customer List (ECL) to licensed electricity suppliers so that customers can shop for power. All residential and small-business customers are included in the ECL by default, but customers have the option of opting out of the list. Customers may also stay in the ECL but withhold access to usage data. Opting out only potentially limits the number of solicitations a customer receives, but the customer can still shop for an electric provider on his or her own.
The ECL provides electric providers with customer information, include name, address, account number, usage data (unless withheld by customer), and other service-related information. However, customer phone number and email addresses are NOT included in the ECL. The intent behind the ECL, according to the PUC, is to develop a more competitive retail market.
Pike County Light & Power (PCLP) takes data protection extremely seriously, so the ECL can only be accessed on our website via a password-protected page made exclusively for electric providers. All utilities are required by the PUC to protect the confidentiality of our customers' information.
If you are a PCLP customer and want to opt out of the ECL, you may change your preferences at any time by clicking the link below to opt out completely or withhold your usage information. Reminder: If you do not manually opt out, you are included on ECL by default. NOTE: If you move and have to create a new account, you will need to include your ECL preference for that new account.
